The Perfect Boyfriend (Jean) is Hard to Find

I have been lusting over the perfect boyfriend jean since the minute I came across a picture of them on pinterest, and let me tell you, it's been a while. I've always loved how everyone looked in theirs, so casual yet not all at the same time. I needed some. So I went on a boyfriend jean finding mission and I was surprised at how difficult it was for me to find a pair that I actually felt comfortable in and that I felt flattered me. I found some (a lot) that were the cutest thing ever when they were hanging up but the most atrocious thing ever when I tried them on. Saggy in all the wrong places. I guess I'm too used to wearing skinny jeans so it was bound to be an adjustment but I couldn't get myself to fork out a substantial amount of money for a pair of weird fitting, oversized, ripped jeans that I couldn't fully commit to. Even though I wanted some so bad. My husband would be so proud.

Then it finally happened, I came across my pair of boyfriend jeans. I found them at American Eagle and something magic happened when I tried them on. I fell in love. All the waiting became worth it and I knew they were the one. This almost sounds like some strange romance novel doesn't it? It's 100% accurate though. And now we're happily experienceing life together-- okay sorry, now its just getting weird, I'll stop.

Long story short, if you love a style and you just can't seem to find the right one for you, keep trying. Try different stores, different styles from those stores. Don't let one bad fit ruin it for you, they aren't all the same.

Also a little insight I picked up from Chelsea on boyfriend jeans, get a bigger size of your skinny jeans so they're still a feminine shape but a bit looser on you. I haven't tried this out yet but if you do and it works for you, let us know!

  1. So funny, I did a post last week about how challenging both finding a good boyfriend jean is, and then styling it to look feminine enough (for me, at least) can be! Great minds think alike :) Yours look absolutely fantastic on you!
