I've found that statement necklaces are so versatile, they can complete any kind of outfit but what I love most is that I can change the entire feel of an outfit or of myself if I'm having one of those off beat days just by adding a necklace. Especially on a monday when I'm running out the door and all I've had time to throw on is a simple pair of black jeans and a white tee. It's such an easy addition and it makes such a difference.

Nothing says fall like a flannel shirt. It is one of my absolute favorite things about this time of year. They are so cozy and warm and pair it with some jeans, booties and a slouchy beanie and there you have my all time favorite outfit.

The air is getting crisp here, fall is definitely on its way, but we're still in the transition period where one day its summer one day its fall, typical Utah. I love that I can throw on a flannel (my husbands flannel in this case) for the cooler days and on the warmer days I can still achieve the fall-ish look and still stay cool by tying it around my waist.

On another note, the husband and I are celebrating our third anniversary this month! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by! It has definitely been the best three years! He's pretty amazing and he gave me an early anniversary gift that I am so excited about! My first Coach bag! Eeek! As I'm sure you've picked up on, I am usually pretty cheap and love a good deal so its pretty rare that I'll even spend more than $20 on a purse. There are pros and cons to this considering the quality is usually not quite as good so I actually end up buying them more often so really how much am I saving? So, this time he decided to splurge and get me a quality bag that will last. And honestly it was an amazing deal over Labor Day weekend so that makes it even better.

Once fall hits, I am ALL about the leggings. I love pairing them with long tees, tunics, and oversized sweaters, and at night-my husband's tees. Leggings are just super comfy, so I try to pair them with everything. And how perfect is this tunic?! It has pockets, which I just absolutely LOVE. Because you never realize how much you use pockets until they aren't there.

Also-whatever happened to the favorite awkward and awesome Thursday that Sydney from The Daybook would do?! I kind of want to bring it back, so here is something awkward and awesome that happened to me this week.

Awkward: Asking a lady where the bathroom was. She pointed to a hallway so I walked over and opened the door-it was a closet. Then I turned around and she pointed to the door next to it. Ahhhh yep...that's the bathroom....with the sign that says Women's Room. 

Awesome: Having a 3 day weekend and Labor Day sales-I think we can all agree that it's awesome.

Happy Hump Day! I can't believe it's already September. September is my favorite month because it's my birthday AND my anniversary month! I'm always looking for a reason to celebrate, so this month is perfect for me. Bring on the cupcakes!

On to other news....how perfect is the color of this shirt?! I LOVE cobalt, and I'm hoping it stays around. I tend to go more towards neutrals and blues in my closet. I'm pretty sure half of my closet is made up of white/grey/black and the other half is made up of shades of blue. What's your favorite pop of color?

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! I did and I definitely wasn't ready for it to end! The husband and I got to spend some time up in the mountains and if you live around here, make sure you make some trips up soon because the colors are already starting to change and they're already super vibrant! You don't want to miss it!

One thing I do love about the warmer months is that I get to wear skirts. Maxi skirts are the best. Seriously, they're so comfy and cool. I love them. I especially love how easy they are to transition to the colder months. I don't know if this is weird but my secret to wearing maxi skirts in fall and winter is that I wear leggings underneath. No one can even tell and it keeps you warm. Genius, I know.

This weekend I kept it comfy and casual in a maxi skirt and my go-to chambray button up. It was a perfect outfit to keep me cool during the warm days and keep me warm during the cool evenings. Definitely on of my favorite outfits for my favorite time of year.
