My Favorite Maxi Skirt

I have been searching for a really flowy maxi skirt like this for some time now, because let's be honest, maxi skirts are the best, super flawy maxi skirts are even better. I've found them online but I couldn't get myself to pay the $40+ for one because as you should know by now, I'm a bargain hunter and it's really hard for me to pay full price for clothes. I just so happened to come across this skirt the other day at Ross as I was literally about to leave. It was one of those fated moments. I had already gone through all of the racks with some success but nothing I absolutely needed so as I was making my way to the front I caught this baby out of the corner of my eye and I was so excited because it was exactly what I had been wanting for months. And do you want to know the best part? It was only $7.00. I know, it still amazes me. Sometimes the little amount patience I have pays off.

Ross and TJMaxx are great places to check out when you have some time to go through the racks, you can find some hidden gems in there for sure. And it's always such a nice surprise when its affordable and you're able to get more for your money.

Plaid at Tibble Fork

Top: Jane
Leggings: Forever 21
Boots: Nordstrom
Purse: Coach

Tibble Fork is one of my favorite places to go in Utah. The lake is so clear that it changes colors depending on where the light hits it. Sometimes it's blue, and sometimes it's green. The first time I ever got to see Tibble Fork in person was last year when my family rode side by sides through the mountains for part of our family reunion. We brought our fishing poles so we could fish at the lake. Riley was able to catch a few fish, but I didn't. Wah wah wah. It was still super fun, and so breath taking that I didn't care. Okay...maybe I cared a little. I'm a bit on the competitive side of things.

Now that the leaves are changing colors, American Fork canyon is so pretty! All of the yellow, orange and red leaves are quite the sight. I don't think my phone could take pictures fast enough. Plus the weather in the canyons is a lot cooler, so you need to bundle up. I always go for my plaid tops to wear in the mountains. It's just the perfect mountainy look and feel. Plus I don't think I could wait any longer to bust out my plaid and boots!

Thanks for reading. xox

Park City Getaway

So lately, the husband and I don't get a lot of time together. We might work in the same office but we do our own thing, and with me at school all night it makes it hard to get much quality time in. That is why I was thrilled when Trav decided that instead of just talking about taking a weekend getaway to Park City for our anniversary, we were actually going to do it. We both needed some time away. Trav found some amazing deals online so we were able to have a great time but still keep it affordable. We stayed at the Hyatt Escala Lodge and it was beautiful! We found a great deal on our local Ksl.com in the "Last Minute Travel" section so we decided to go for it. He also found an awesome deal from groupon that was for 2 for 1 day passes to the Utah Olympic Park where we were able to ride the alpine slide, ziplines and attempt the adventure courses as many times as we wanted. It was well worth the price. Jump on that deal when it comes around again. So fun.

We had some delicious dinners on Main Street in Park City as well and one night before we went to dinner we decided that since we were dressed up we might as well stop at my favorite place, The McPolin Farm, an old giant white barn off the highway, and take some family pictures. For just setting up my tripod, they turned out pretty well.

Leaving was hard but we fit in a beautiful drive up and over Guardsmens Pass on the way home. Seriously, Utah is such a beautiful place, everyday I am so glad I ended up here.

It's always good to do your research when planning getaways, but sometimes the last minuted getaway deals are too good to pass up don't forget to check out the deal websites when you're in need of a weekend away!

How cute is this tee from Mindy Mae's Market?! It's super flowy and soft. I've never been a boho chic type of girl-I'm more preppy in my style, but I just couldn't resist this shirt. I was sad to see that they were out of stock for a while, but they finally came back AND are on sale!

Also-Please don't mind my messy hair in these pics. It has been super rainy and humid in Utah over the past week, so my hair decided to do it's own thing. You would think I would be use to it from growing up in Oklahoma, but I guess my hair adjusted to the wonderful dry air of Utah.

Thanks for stopping by and reading our blog! We appreciate the love and support. xox

Friday Favorites: Classic Fall Makeup

Friday Favorites: Classic Fall Makeup

I love a classic, yet simple, makeup look. My fall go-to makeup routine is pretty easy and I would say a pretty classic style, but these few little things I can't leave home without doing make a big statement. Theres a good chance that whether you see me at work or in scrubs at school I will be sporting a more dramatic cat-eye created with liquid eyeliner, contouring from this amazing Smashbox contour kit and almost without a doubt I'll have on my favorite dark plum and wine lipsticks from Mac. I love these three items so much because they change the entire look of your makeup with a few easy steps. Seriously, if you haven't tried contouring yet, you need to get on that. I think its so fun to do! Its a work of art on your face. Don't be afraid to try new styles and colors of makeup, theres so many great tutorials out there that are so helpful and sometimes I think you just have to go for it and wear the lipstick. Who cares that you're just going into the grocery store, if you want to wear it, wear it. Feel confident in it, that makes all the difference.

Neon

Sweatshirt: Mindy Maes Market (use code 'arrowsandapricots' for an additional 10% off)
Jeans: Target
Watch: Fossil
Bracelet: Alex and Ani

The weather is finally cooling off here in Utah! This week has been so rainy, and all I want to do is cuddle up in a blanket with my husband and pup and watch Modern Family reruns. When Mindy Mae's Market came out with their lounge raglan sweatshirt, I HAD to have it. And luckily for me, they have a red and white striped one too, so I can get away with wearing them twice a week without having people judge me. I love how long they are. Length is a huge deal for me because nothing bothers me more than wearing a top that is shorter that I'm constantly having to pull down.

So overall I would give this sweatshirt a 10 out of 10. I love the length, the comfort, the pop of neon, and quality. And don't forget, you can use the code 'arrowsandapricots' for 10% off your entire order at Mindy Mae's Market.
