Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I cannot tell you how excited I am for a long relaxing weekend with family and friends. Aside from maybe a little black Friday shopping, I plan on taking it easy all weekend(we'll see how that actually goes). Speaking of black Friday, what are your favorite stores to go to? Obviously, you can bet I'll make a stop at a Target. Or two...

Bringing it back to Thanksgiving, does your family have any special traditions? The husband and I realized that we didn't really have a whole lot of them when we were growing up so now we are all about new traditions that we can begin and continue on when we have kids one day so I love hearing what other families do for the holidays.

So sad story about my sweater-I accidentally dried it in the wash and it shrunk! It use to be about 3 inches longer and it just shrunk right up on me. I guess that's what I get for forgetting that it was in the wash and not getting it out to dry. Other than it shrinking on me, this sweater is so comfortable. I was a little nervous to purchase it, but I'm so glad I did because it goes with everything. It's the perfect winter staple. It's not super thick, so you can wear a coat with it. I love thick sweaters, but I also need to wear a coat here in the winter because it gets so dang cold-and I'm not a cold weather type person. Put me on a beach please!

The holidays are here! 'Tis the season of family, friends, food, more food and more family! Do you like to dress up for your holiday events or keep things more casual? I kind of do both and I have a feeling all of mine will include a vest of some sort. I am loving all of the vest options right now. This army green cargo vest is perfect over a stripped sweater. I love adding layers to my outfits, especially over this sweater, I've worn it in the past and I always felt like something was missing. Now I know that it was missing this vest. Don't be afraid to try layering your old and new clothing items. You never know, you might come up with a whole new wardrobe without having to spend a fortune!

Last Saturday I got the opportunity to model for Notes and Knots! It was so cold outside, but it was worth it to work with such an amazing company. They have the cutest headbands, and they are able to customize them for you (even better). I'm wearing the cabin fever headband, but I also have my eye on the lumber jane headband which is a black and red buffalo check pattern. If you have a little girl, make sure to check out their headbands and leggings because they are to die for. It makes me want a girl so bad so I can dress her up in them! The little girl I was modeling with was so nervous to get her picture taken so I talked to her about kitties and glitter and even danced for her to try and get her to laugh. She was happy to walk with me though-I'm glad Sam was able to snap a picture of us together :)

Ali and Kati (the owners of Notes and Knots) are so kind and such great ladies to work with. I'm so glad they let me be a part of their holiday shoot. Make sure you check out their website and get some stocking stuffers and friend gifts for Christmas! 

And a side note funny story-I noticed in the email that they sent out the group email to a girl named Katelyn, and I recognized her full name but I couldn't remember how I knew her. Come to find out, I followed her photographer and had used her wedding as some of my wedding inspiration! She is the sweetest girl you will ever meet, and we instantly became friends. You can't even tell that we didn't know each other before in these pictures. Yay for social media right?!

I ordered this vest back in July for an "early birthday" present, until I found out the expected shipping date was November 28th-my birthday is in September. Since July, I have been on the phone with customer support multiple times because I would see that the vest was in stock online. They would say "yes we are sending you one right now" and then call back a few minutes later saying it was already sold by the time they put in the information. I FINALLY got the vest last Thursday, and oh my gosh I am in LOVE. They must run a bit big because I bought a small, and it's a bit too loose for me. It will be better when I layer it with chunkier things this winter, but for my little button up shirt it's kind of big. And I guess I like putting my right hand in my pocket a lot? Haha! This probably isn't normal but even though I've been married for three years now and I had bridals/groomals done right before my wedding, I have been wanting to have them done again. I think its because for some unknown reason I decided to color my typically dark brunette hair blonde for our wedding and so now when I have my wedding pictures out on my desk or in my home people ask who is in the picture with my husband... I mean people change their hair all of the time, right? It's always a shock that I'm the one in the picture in a wedding dress with my husband. Weird...
So I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to stage these bridals! I felt so much more comfortable with myself and with the way I looked. Not to mention the photographer was aaamazing and helped us pose in attractive ways instead of us having to guess and hope we don't look terribly awkward. LeeYen made it such a fun experience and I am so in love with the outcome! The style and coloring of the photos are perfect and fit my personal style so well. I couldn't have asked for more. If you are searching for a wedding photographer I 100% recommend her! My husband told me this weekend that whenever I get a new piece of clothing he can tell how much I like it because I try to wear it with everything. I started laughing because it's true! Every single piece in this outfit I have tried with a million other things. Especially the fur. Ever since I saw Sydney from the Daybook wearing fur, I knew I needed a fur vest. Now I have 2, and I wear them almost every day with every outfit I can think of.
